First Week of School

Hey guys, how's it going?!?!?

I don't know about you, but I'm plum-tuckered out!!

So far I have 22 kiddos, and trust me, they keep me on my toes!!!!

So, here's a peek at our week, I tried to keep up with taking pictures,

though it looks like I'm missing a few pictures, lol!!!

We took our 1st day of school pictures with the 'K'

that I made this summer.

We decided how we felt about starting Kindergarten.

This is from Babbling Abby's Crazy for Kinders pack!

We learned about some color sight words, from Babbling Abby also!

We read.....

and we did this sorting activity from Ashley Reed's Bucket Filler Brigade.

We also read

and created these sweet patties from Deanna Jump's Name Unit.

My goal is to finish them on Monday!!!!

This week we start our reading series, and I plan to begin to

go more in depth with centers, etc.

Yep, we're ready to march full steam ahead!!!

How was your first week?

Back to School and a Sale!!!!

Hey guys, how's it going?!?

It's that time of year again!!

I have 18 kiddos who will be coming to school on Monday!!

Let me tell you, I have been so tired this past week,

what with PD, others kinds of meetings AND Meet the Teacher!!!

I think that I finally finished everything, and I have my fingers crossed

that I have everything ready for Monday!!!

I'm linking up with Christina for a Best and Most Linky party of some of my

best and fav products for the Back to School sale at TPT tomorrow!!!

Teacher's Pet

Alphabet Practice was my labor of love this summer, and I'm so proud of the way that it turned out!!

I had kind of scrambled around last year for some quality alphabet sheets,

so I decided to make my own for this year!!

It combines letter recognition, letter sounds, and handwriting, all in one packet!!

Most Likely to Help Your Students Succeed

This baby was my heart last school year!! We had sooooo much extra time in the mornings,

and I did not want to waste instructional time, seeing that we don't have enough

of it as it is!!  So, I created a monthly morning work pack

and I've also bundled it together for even more savings!!

I can't even begin to describe how it helped my students gain academic ground!!

I feel as if it's my best product yet!!

Best Couple

Sight words and more sight words!!!!  As teachers, we know how important it is that students

learn sight words, especially since that's what a huge percentage of

reading is composed of!!

I used these packs for weekly sight word practice, and it helped my kiddos tremendously!!

Don't forget, the sale begins tomorrow!!

My store will be 20% off, and don't forget to add the code

to receive a total of 28% off!!

Let's Talk About Me!

Hey guys, how's it going?

Here it is, the last 2 days of summer vacation!!!

Oh where, oh where did my summer vacay go?!?!?!?!?!?

Anyways, I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin for Teacher Week,

and today's post will be about, drumroll, ME!!!!!  Haha!!

Well, allow me to introduce myself!!

I'm Angela, and this will be my sixth year of teaching!!

See, here I am!!

I taught 1st grade for three years, and this will be my third year teaching kindergarten.

I have been at the same school all six years, I even did my student teaching

and my observations here. So really I've been here like 8 years!!

I love to play the piano, (since I was 6), and I love to read!!!

I am a morning person, not a night owl, I'm pretty chipper on school mornings,

much to the horror of some of my co-teachers, lol!!!!

I don't have any children, but I have 5 awesome nephews,

and my best friend is having a girl!!!!!!!

My other great friend is pregnant, and I have fingers crossed that it's a girl, lol!!

I need to buy some pink and purple for once!!!!!!

Let's see, what else do I need to tell you?

I have a few college degrees, but you knew that already, right?

I have an associate's degree from Jefferson State Community College, and

I did undergrad at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

I got my Master's degree and Ed.S at the University of West Alabama.

People keep telling me that I should go back and get my doctorate,

but to tell you the truth, I'm sort of tired of going to school!!!

My school is a Leader in Me school, which is based off of the 7 habits for happy kids.

I am on the Lighthouse Team, and I got the wonderful chance to go to the

Leader in My Symposium in Louisiana in February,

AND

we got the chance to meet Sean Covey!!!!

Even though his eyes are closed, I just HAD to post the cool picture!!!

Oh, I am also the technology representative at my school, and for some reason,

I absolutely LOVE all things technology!!!

I think that is how I got into blogging and TPT'ing (can that be a verb?!?).

I love it so much, and I know that it has made me a better teacher,

and I have also formed great friendships with awesome people

I wouldn't have met otherwise!!!

I am in the process of learning about HTML code and CSS and all of that jazz,

and let me tell you, it's quite interesting!!!

I even took an HTML class this summer, and I can't wait to learn more!!!

Come on over and link up!!!

That Fabulous Pencil Sharpener!!!

Hey guys, how's it going?

It's official, I go back to work next week,

and the kiddos come to school two weeks from today!!!!!

EEK!!!!!!!

But I digress.....

Now, I know you've probably seen these pencil sharpeners all over the place, as I have.

You also probably know that there are some pencils that even the best

pencil sharpeners can NOT sharpen. Needless to say, I was pretty skeptical!!

So, I had the chance to review this Classroom Friendly Sharpener from

Once I received it in the mail, I couldn't wait to open it and see what all the fuss was about!

At first, I wasn't sure how I should proceed.

I know what you're thinking, stick the pencil in and give it a go!

Umm....no go!!!

There aren't any directions included, so I started moving parts,

and then I thought that I broke it!! Oh, no!!

Then I realized that the front part was supposed to come out, lol!!

That's when you stick the pencil in!!

The clamps hold the pencil in place, and you just start turning!

I must say, I was totally shocked.

Now, I purposely used some cheap pencils, just to see what would happen.

I hate those pencils, because the electric pencil sharpener just doesn't sharpen them right!!

You know what I mean, the lead is about to fall out,

one side is clearly sharpened while the other side isn't,

and it's just a mess all around!!

So, I got to sharpening, and let me tell you,

the pencil sharpener is very quiet, AND you can tell when the pencil

is ready, so that you don't over sharpen.

Well, let me show you how they turned out...

Like, is that amazing or what?!?!?!?!?!?!

They don't look like they're ready to break, one side isn't sharpened more than the other,

and they write perfectly!!!

I was so pleased with this pencil sharpener, I think I need to buy more!!!

If you're looking for a pencil sharpener, then look for further!!

Morning Work K and 1st Grade

Hey guys, how's it going?

I know one thing, it is so hot, and I'm so glad my daddy and baby brother came

yesterday to help me out on my yard!!! (Well, they did most of the work, lol!!)

It had just gotten out of hand, and I needed some help in taming it!!

I keep looking out the window to see how nice it looks!!!

Well, it's getting to be about that time again, umhmmm, you know what I'm talking about!!

Time for school!!! I know that there are a few of you who have already started.

One of my fave packets that I created was the morning work for Kindergarten.

There is a packet for each month, from August, all the way to May.

They can also be purchased in a bundle, which saves you 30%!!!!! Wow!!!

Click on the image below for more information!!

Now, of course I absolutely love these packets,

but here are some of the reviews from other teachers who loved it as well!!!!

So, I've had several requests to create a first grade morning work pack,

and I didn't know if I really wanted to head down that road.

I also had some of my friends from my former 1st grade team ask me for one as well.

So, after some good advice from a great friend, I couldn't wait to pull it all together!!

So, here it is, Fall First Grade Morning Work!!!!

Whoo-hoo!!!  This pack helps to reinforce kindergarten skills that

students may have forgotten after they've experience the summer slide,

although we know that they haven't done diddly have studied religiously over the summer!!

It also helps to prep for those 1st grade skills that are soon a-coming!!

I loved using the morning work, and this year, as we move to a new reading series,

my grade level and I decided to use it for homework this year.

That's one of the main things I love about it, it's so versatile!!

The first five people to comment on their morning work plan will win a

Fall 1st Grade Morning Work pack!!!!

Don't forget your email address!!!

Thank you to the 1st five people who commented on their morning work plan. Your morning work pack is on the way!!!!
Everyone else, I'd love to still hear about what you do!!!
