Book Talk Tuesday: Mr. Peabody's Apples

Hey guys and dolls, how's it going?

I am smack dab (I'm so country) in the middle of testing,

so our apple week is spilling over into this week as well!!

I'm linking up today with Deanna Jump for Book Talk Tuesday!!

One of my favorite books is Mr. Peabody's Apples, written by Madonna.

Now, I'll be the first to admit, when I heard that Madonna was in the process of

writing children's books, I was a little bit skeptical......

....but once I read the book, I was blown away!

This book is set in 1949, in Happville, USA.

Mr. Peabody is an elementary school teacher who happens

to also coach baseball.

One day, no one shows up for the game at the baseball diamonds,

and somebody tells Mr. Peabody that somebody spread a rumor

that he was a thief who stole apples from the local market.

Instead of getting angry, Mr. Peabody shows the entire town that

the truth is more than what a situation looks like.

I love this book, is has such a great message for kids, and

it has become one of my fall favorites!!

Below is a link to Madonna reading from the book, I hope you enjoy!!

You can find the book at Amazon, just click the link!!

I will also say, that I think it's more than $0.62!!

Have a great day, talk to you guys later!

  1. Hi, This is the first book I read to my second grade students this year. I found some activities to do with it searching in the web. Here: www.ThoughtfulEd.com and I also found a PDF doc here http://www.witsprogram.ca/pdfs/schools/books/mr-peabodys-apples/mr-peabodys-apples.pdf
